Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has Experience.

Before the Hocking Hills was known as a premiere center for outdoor adventure a little outfitter existed, Hocking Valley Canoe Livery. We started with 10 aluminum canoes in 1976 and have grown little by little every year. While we are still “small” by some standards, we will always be big on service. Experience has taught us only one thing matters: customers. We are not judged by what we say but how and what we do; and to this end we will continue do everything to ensure each customer has the best outdoor experience.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has the Best Equipment.

We think “outside of the box” when it comes to providing you with the best equipment. First we are one of the only outfitters in the country to incorporate backrests on some Old Town Discovery Canoes at no additional cost. Second, only a handful of canoe livery’s in the Midwest offer the Nalu Stand up Kayak. The Nalu is a paddle board that is absolutely huge in the West Coast; it is our hope to introduce paddle boarding to the Hocking Hills. Finally we have embraced the increasing popularity of kayaking. More and more people prefer to kayak every year; accordingly, for your convenience we have armed ourselves with the biggest and best kayak fleet in 2010!

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has the Location.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery is located in the scenic Hocking Hills. Many experts foresee the Hocking Hills becoming Ohio’s top tourism attraction. With nine FREE State Parks that link hundreds of miles of trails together it is not hard to see that prediction become reality. Add to that equation other outdoor attractions including canopy tours, ATV rentals, bicycle trails and horseback riding, being centrally located in the Hocking Hills is the place to be! And if it is nice to be located in the Hocking Hills, then having a good portion of land is even better. Our three facilities (canoe livery, campground, and fun center) have a combined 226 acres. This translates to spacious campsites, private trails and ample room for any type of group function.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery is Affordable.

Why not be the family hero since prices are so affordable? Take the family (two adults and two kids) on a 5 mile canoe ride for less than $35. For an all day event do the Fun Package for $30 a person. Call up your old college roommates or recruit your coworkers because 12 people are all you need for a discount. (It is ok if you do not know or like most of them)

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has Special Packages.

A wise man once told us that people like saving money. That got us thinking…… “Why not package the activities our customers are going to do anyway and offer them at a discount?” What transpired was the Family Fun Package, two-go kart rides 18 hole miniature golf, driving range and two hour canoe trip, and Canoe Horseback Package, canoeing and horseback riding at one low price. After all, just because a service is cheap does not mean it is a deal; it is only a deal when the service actually provides value.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has Riverside Camping.

The Riverside Campground is within 20 minutes of all nine Hocking Hills State Parks and within .25 miles from the new Zipline. In addition to being close to all the Hocking Hills attractions, we have 60 campsites and 10 electric sites that are close to the Hocking River. In fact, most sites allow you to swim and/or fish from your campsite. So if you are looking for a campground that provides a total outdoor experience, we have the campground for you.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has the Best Trips.

The best Hocking River trips means a slowly increasing distribution of miles and time to ensure you get the adventure that is right for you. Crocketts Run to Livery is 5 miles and 1-2 hours, Natural Rockbridge to Livery is 7 miles/ 2-3 hours, Clear Creek to Livery is 11 miles and 3-5 hours and finally, Rush Creek to Livery, is 19 miles and 10 hours. Each expedition increases just enough so you are on the river for the desired amount of time.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery is Family Owned.

There is a difference between being family owned and being operated by an outside corporation. Outdoor adventure is not only what we do, it is ALL we do. Every decision is made in house with our customers in mind. More than likely you will meet the people that have worked hard to keep the canoe livery in operation for so long. You can even engage in conversation on why they started the canoe livery. (What the heck were they thinking?)

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery has the Facilities.

There is no doubt that facilities are important. We have two shower houses. One is located at the conclusion of your river trip and the other is within a short distance of the Riverside Campground. We also have two picnic pavilions (free of charge) for anyone camping or taking a river trip.

Hocking Valley Canoe Livery provides Fun Customer Service.

So What? Every company has some sort of equipment, every company has a “location” and every company has a “facility”. If all the above are the same, then one aspect stands out: customer service. Hocking Valley Canoe Livery believes that since canoeing and kayaking are fun, service should be offered that way too. We will not put your in front of a generic safety video before your departure; instead we prefer hands on instruction, passionate canoeists teaching you the basic paddle techniques, the type of wildlife to expect and everything in between. On the shuttle to river destinations, we discuss historic landmarks, the Natural Rockbridge and the Hocking Canal. Customer service starts before you sign up for a trip, before you set foot in the parking lot and before you make the initial reservation. Customer service starts the minute you find out about us. We strive to answer all emails and phone calls within the same day and provide you with the best information so you can make the most of your time in the Hocking Hills, even if it is not booking with us. Customer service is always the difference and we are sticking to it.
