Canoe for the Cure

On September 10th, Hocking Valley Canoe Livery is rocking its 3rd Annual "Canoe for the Cure". Canoe for the Cure is an all day event aimed to raise money and awareness for one of mankind's most deadly diseases: breast cancer. Donations welcomed. People who donate over $25 recieve a free T-shirt. All proceeds recieved will go straight to the American Cancer Society.

5 mile Canoe Race - 10:00

At 10:00am the event kicks off with a traditional canoe race. At 5 miles approximately 1-2 hours only the strong will survive this race. WARNING... no weenies allowed! Top three places be rewarded with excellent prizes from Pizza Crossing, Hocking Peaks, ATV World and more. Suggested Donation $15

Up the Creek Canoe for the Cure-11:00

At 11:00 lauches a fun race called "Up the Creek without a Paddle" This novice race puts teamwork at an all time high, as you try to manuever a canoe without a paddle. Top three places will be rewarded with excellent prizes from Pizza Crossing, Hocking Peaks, ATV World and more. Suggested Donation $15

Naturalist Guided Canoe Trip- 12:00pm

Join HVCL for a naturalist guided paddle of the scenic Hocking River. Renowned naturalists Paul Knoop and Alan Cohen will lead an excursion of the Hocking from the Natural Rockbridge to the Livery. This 8 mile canoe ride is one of the scenic routes on the entire Hocking River. Points of interest along this route include the Natural Rockbridge and the old Hocking Canal. River wetlands, wildlife and other points of interest will be discussed. The suggested donation is $35 and includes lunch from the Millstone BBQ. Each participant will also recieve a free T-shirt.

Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin- 4:00pm

Golf is a sport of physical precision and aerial dynamics—won and lost upon the pendulum of your swing. Show off your swing at the Family Fun Center and win prizes for the family. Who ever has the longest drive or is closest to the pin will be rewarded with prizes from Pizza Crossing, Hocking Peaks, ATV World and more. Suggested donation $15

Go-Kart Race - 6:00pm

The final activity for Canoe for Cure is a go-kart race around a figure eight go-track. Winner will be rewarded with prizes from Pizza Crossing, Hocking Peaks, ATV World and more. Suggested donation $15
